HANDS ON EDUCATION

THE FOUR PILLARS

Just like a building, preservation needs four strong pillars. AiP embodies the philosophy put forth by the European Heritage Hub on education and empowerment of the heritage sector, including students and young professionals in the field of building conservation. The principle is to foster meaningful opportunities in the following 4 areas:

EDUCATION

AiP offers internships and student opportunities that provide valuable experience in planning and implementing hands-on preservation. We will work with your university program to meet requirements needed for you to earn credit.

TRAINING

Hands-on training is provided by an expert at each project site. The expert teaches skills and leads the work as volunteers apply their newly learned skills. One on one instruction and guidance is available for all project volunteers, better known as Jammers.

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering provides essential support for many communities' unmet needs. The volunteer also benefits through increased self-esteem, skill development and valuable experience that can advance professional goals. Additionally, volunteering fosters empathy, providing a sense of purpose that can lead to a healthier, more connected life.

AiP Jammers provide skilled labor for each project at no cost to the site manager thus allowing for the completion of vital projects.

NETWORKING

Every Adventures in Preservation project is a networking opportunity. Project sessions bring together a diverse group of students, professionals and the interested public from a variety of fields.

AiP is launching several initiatives to enhance your networking possibilities: a Lecture Series, Patreon, and a newsletter introducing a variety of people in the field of historic preservation, also called building conservation.

AIP SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Urgent preservation threats are addressed each year by our dynamic volunteers. AiP's need for jammers continues to increase and interest is building around the world. Many people would like to participate, but let us know that the project fee is beyond their means.

We would like everyone wanting to attend a project to have that opportunity!

You can help resolve this problem by making a donation to the AiP Scholarship Fund.
